Project Title: DFT Study on the magnetic properties of endohedral fullerenes
Project Description: The project will explore the electronic structure of endohedral metallo-fullerenes as well as non-metal endohedral fullerenes such as NaC60 that shows magnetic properties. Our interest is in the role of the functional units attached to the fullerenes in determining the magnetic properties. The computations will be carried out to study the zero field splitting of the spin states. All the calculations will be done using the NRLMOL code using DFT at the all-electron GGA level.
